Mick was born in Broken Hill, is married and has two children. In his early days Mick played football, in fact he did so to the age of 33 and then in 1974 after seeing the “Brushman of the bush” became interested in art.
He enrolled himself in art classes with Joyce Condon and has been painting ever since.
Mick is a blacksmith by trade, but now being retired, spends most of his time painting, playing golf or spending time with his grandchildren.
Mick is a member of the Willyama Art Society and both national and international art lovers have purchased many of his works.
The majority of Mick’s works are of Mulga trees, red earth, salt bushes, and gum trees and hence has picked up the nickname of “Mulga Mick” He likes to keep a low profile so it is rare to see Mick at the gallery, although if you head out to the Broken Hill Country Golf Club you might see him on the fairways.
